ABOUT THE NUMBER OF HAYRIDES:  Each tractor pulled Hayride Trip accommodates approximately 25 people more or less-depending on size and age-and lasts approximately 30 minutes.  We have one tractor pulling one trailer so hayride trips are back to back.  With larger groups requiring several hayride trips, the back-to-back hayrides should be started sooner and trip time may be shortened slightly to expedite things.  (There is some variance in the time since there can be brief stops included on each trip.)  The Group Coordinator onsite should  be in charge of pacing the activities (eating, hayrides, smors, games) to fit into the 3 hour time frame.  We include in your rate (based on your projected number) whatever number (fully loaded, riders riding one time) of hayrides is needed to accommodate your event group within the approximate 3 hour time frame.  The number of hayrides can vary and is not an automatic number for most groups because some visitors choose to visit around the warmth of the fire and NOT go on a hayride.   Please refer to our Rate Page information

For safety, we only use our private trails and grounds for all hayrides and activities.  Please see our Policy Page for our safety policy and hayride rules.

On the Subject of Music Playlists for Amplification

IMPORTANT  -  Only Music rated "E" for Everyone allowed to be played, please.  This has been stipulated briefly in the past on our website but not taken too seriously by a party group or two.  We reserve the right to prohibit amplification of any explicit music in nature or rating on our private property (Definition:  Music containing any offensive or profane language, sexually graphic or otherwise inappropriate material for all ages.)  We market ourselves as only a family friendly enterprise & environment and  offer to play only music that supports or at least, doesn't take away from this image we've tried to build up over the years.  We prefer that this issue be dealt with BEFORE a group chooses to schedule with us rather than it be a possible conflict later while an event is going on.  We don't want to surprise your party group with rules you were unaware of or happened to overlook - but we also do not want to be surprised on our end with what we deem as objectionable material we must listen to while we are on stand-by working your event on our grounds.  We want the entire experience (yours and ours) to be fun and positive.  Catering to so many different kinds of groups currently in a very limited calendar, we want there to be no future ambiguity as to our policy as you consider scheduling.  Thank you.

ORDER OF HAYRIDES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING YOUR EVENT  You and your group are welcome to outline your event activities in whatever order you wish.  Most groups prepare and eat their main meal first, start the hayride(s) and then conclude with smors.  Time for other activities such as birthday related activity, animal feeding and games needs to also be figured in for some groups.  The order and exact activities is up to your group and leader.  He or she should tell us when they arrive what the order is to be and then be on hand from time to time throughout the evening for pacing the activities and general oversight.  As mentioned above, the more people there are (meaning several hayrides) the more each activity should "move along" and the 30 minute hayride trips should start sooner than later during your event.  While one group is riding the others can be visiting under the pavilion or around the fire.  Fitting the activities into a 3 hour time frame is less of a factor the fewer people that are in attendance.

On the subject of birthday parties, we are sometimes asked if the parents who are accompanying their kids to Firey Trails are counted in the group size.  Yes, they are for a couple of reasons.  First, we are not at all a typical birthday party venue, such as Laser Quest, Pump It Up or Incredible Pizza, etc. whose appeal is marketed toward mainly kids - with parents present mainly for supervision and the pacing of kids eating and activities.  A Firey Trails event lends itself well to all ages, no matter if he or she is the star attraction, parent or guest - we've hosted parties for kids of 2 to a grandmother of 70 and also groups of mostly kids with a few supervising adults, but also groups of only adults with no kids present.  A Firey Trails event is flexible to appeal to all ages (with age appropriate activities) whereas a typical kids venue cannot claim this.  For instance, kids might participate in a Karaoke contest or bring out their favorite current MP3 play list, whereas Grandma might have her favorite classic country hits playing through the amplification we provide.  We've been told by many parents that part of the appeal of Firey Trails was that parents and other adults could have a good time along with the kids...and didn't feel they were just along for the ride.    Enjoyment could include a hayride but could be as simple and talking, relaxing and unwinding by a mesmerizing fire in a festive or scenic ambiance that surrounds you.

Secondly, as great and different as birthday parties seem to be, set-up and break-down by us is overall the same for any type of group we host.  We have hosted everyone from church groups, football squads, fraternities, company picnics, and as an afterthought since 2005, birthday parties.  But birthday party groups seem to be the only time we are sometimes asked about our rate structure by total group size in attendance-especially for kids parties.  The preparation is as time intensive to set up and break down for 5 people as it is for 40.  Also unlike most hayride attractions, hayrides are only part of this unique overall experience.  This is why our schedule is busier every year because of repeating groups-and ever increasingly popular birthday parties.  So while we acknowledge that our rate structure is not typical (as the more common birthday venue), our Firey Trails event experience is not typical either.  We hope this explains the structure of our rates as far as birthday parties are concerned.

(Our preparations include:  Making sure our Firey Trails grounds are properly groomed, arranging our family schedule to accommodate your event-sometimes leaving our other full time work early to do this, building in advance and maintaining of the firepit with a ready supply of wood nearby, several steps of lighting 2-3 acres of the grounds,  configuring, setting up and cleaning the serving tables and picnic tables, directing parking on larger groups, providing the right number of cleaned roasting forks, cleaning and outfitting the modern restrooms onsite for each group, providing complimentary roasted peanuts in the shell (upon request), assisting and directing guests on our grounds, transferring of animals to our petting area from the main corral, making sure our guests have accessible feed, and of course, the number of hayrides we will be providing your group.  Since we are out in the weather, this also means spending an hour or so breaking down things to some extent after each event day is finished in case of rain.)
